Fruit Pastry & Brownies

A must try to do recipe for all! Definitely a keeper for me! This Fruit Pastry recipe was originally shared by Vi, an IK forum pal. Thanks Vi! There is a modified version from Cecily aka Chawanmushi too! Here is her modified version.

Mostly fresh fruits are being used. You can top the cake with any fruits (no juicy kind), be it strawberry, kiwi, blueberry, pear, peaches, plums, grapes, cherry, banana, apple, pineapple and many others...The cake is so soft and moist...so yummy.

I baked 3x the recipe for a bbq last Sat and all the guests simply loved it very much!







Made some brownies for the children as dessert for a bbq gathering. Brownie goes very well with a scoop of vanilla ice-cream, some strawberry slices and drizzled with some melted chocolate, simply yummy!

Dear Dad, Happy Father's Day!

This is the only fresh cream cake I made for this year Father's Day - specially for my dad only. I did not make any for my hubby and fil. They just do not fancy cakes that has cream in it....They prefer non-cream cake. Eventually, I baked a Fruit Cake Loaf for them and they just loved it!


My dad, being a fruits lover, I did a fruit cake for him. I used up 2 boxes of fresh strawberries (that's a lot yeh). Strawberries slices are sandwiched in between layers of vanilla sponge, frosted the whole cake with fresh cream and topped with whole strawberries.

Father's Day Dishes - Mixed Cuisines

Nothing fanciful though, just a few simple home-cooked dishes for dh to celebrate Father's Day with the children at home. We had a quick dinner together as dh has to work on that evening.

Fruit Cake Loaf & Chocolate Chips Butter Cake

This was baked for my fil and dh as both dislike cakes with cream.





This is for my dss. Used abt 1/3 of the batter, I added some chocolate chips into it.

Bibimbap

Bibimbap is a popular Korean dish.Bibimbap is served as a bowl of warm white rice topped with sauteed and seasoned vegetables, beef (or any meat), a fried egg (sunny side up), and gochujang (korean chilli pepper paste). The ingredients are stirred together thoroughly just before eating. It is served in a heated stone bowl.

A korean friend of mine has given me a bottle of gochujang (korean chilli paste) and some of her home-made kimchi that I decided to cook BiBimBap for our lunch this afternoon. This is a simple meal and yet it is so tasty! I love it!! Yummy!
